WELCOME TO THE BORDER PARK RUGBY WEBSITE

Welcome to the online home of Border Park Rugby Football Club.
We are England’s most remote rugby club, located in the heart of Kielder Forest close to the border with Scotland. Formed in 1961 the club has by a group of foresters and hill farmers our club will be 50 years old in season 2011/12.

We are members of Northumberland RFU and play in the counties junior leagues. We run one team on Saturday and a junior team dependent on availability. Ours is a fun club, we play to win but we do like to enjoy ourselves and of course a post match beer or three is always welcome!

Our players travel from all over the north and south Tyne valleys with
a number travelling over 40 miles for a home game. Our ground, Symons Park, is surely the most scenic in England. Situated in a natural tree lined bowl alongside the Kielder burn it is a beautiful
place to play rugby. Of course we do suffer changeable weather and can see all four seasons in one day!. Situated at around 700ft above sea level hard frost and snow can be a wee problem...

Our club relies on a small but dedicated committee led by our chairman Tom Richards. Tom will be President of Northumberland Rugby Union in the 2011/12 and is undoubtedly the North Tyne’s Mr Rugby.

Over the years we have welcomed many touring teams and have toured a number of times ourselves with destinations varying from Workington to the USA. Pictures from some of our tours can be seen on the gallery page.

New players and members are always welcome, young or old, experienced or new to the game we welcome to join our club.
We are a small family orientated club and every member is welcome, no closed committee rooms here!
